About Course
Selenium is an open-source automation testing framework used for validating web applications across different browsers and platforms. It allows testers to write test scripts in multiple programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, Ruby, and JavaScript, making it highly flexible and widely adopted in the software testing industry.
Selenium supports browser automation for browsers like Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, and Opera, and enables the execution of tests in parallel environments using Selenium Grid. It is composed of several tools and components, including:
Selenium WebDriver – Executes test scripts directly in the browser using a programming interface.
Selenium IDE – A Chrome/Firefox extension for simple record-and-playback testing.
Selenium Grid – Used for running tests in parallel on multiple machines and browsers.
Selenium RC (now deprecated) – Earlier version of Selenium before WebDriver was introduced.
Selenium integrates easily with test frameworks such as TestNG, JUnit, NUnit, and tools like Maven, Jenkins, Docker, and Allure for CI/CD and reporting.
